Breaking news: blogdisease bifurcates
Published by AstralGlamBoy March 12th, 2007 in self-referential
Dear bloggies.
I’m making a small change here at blogdisease. Some of you may know that I run two blogs. My other is the Media Mindfulness blog, which focuses on my professional interests, namely media literacy, youth education and media criticism. You will notice that on the sidebar to the right is a widget that features up-to-date feeds from the world bridger media blog (you can get the widget and put in your blog or Web site if you like!). Between the two sites I used to crosspost rants featuring media criticism and news, but I’ve decided to let each one develop its own identity. Blogdisease has become more of an outlet for my unprocessed, residual punk rock energy. With world bridger media I’m trying to be a little more “professional,” that is, no cussing and trying to be an information source for my colleagues. Here at blogdisease you are my partners in thought crime. I’ve begun to take a liking to tactical media, which encompasses a lot of things I’ve been covering here, such as culture jamming, guerrilla media, border art, postirony, propaganda, war mongering, veterans of punk, freak culture, etc. Expect to see that become more of a focus (If my professional allies catch me, I won’t deny it). I’m also slowly trying to improve the navigation and content, but this is a volunteer operation, so you get the army you signed up with!
It gets a little lonely in the blogosphere, so drop me a line or post a comment below and tell me how I’m doing. What do you like? What don’t you like? Let me know that you are alive and more than just data dust swirling in the Web 2.0 maelstrom.
Finally, I just moved to Rome, so if you know any cool people in Italy, please let me know!

AstralGlamBoy, love your blog … Wish I had all day to read through your backchannels.
Hope Rome welcomes you with open arms. Here’s my very short story about NexRome:
Forbidden Land
She picked up the hologram from where it had fallen, and played one sequence after another from the old days; the dogs on the roof with the kids, skiing down a big pile of snow, he wore a funny hat during their horseback travel to Manchu Picchu before they left. It flickered to a stop. This wasn’t NexRome - she was being watched and it was time to forage for what she could get and move on.

I’m in the Master of Information program at UW in Seattle, right now I am learning to write in an academic style so I have empathy for your changing your writing style.
Well, just keep being so fabulous my dear!
Cheers!

PS I found you through a query I did on Google images and found some Japanese art I believe you published on your site that just slaughtered moi.
Linda, thanks for the plug and great blog! I feel your pain. Doing the academic thing can be a mind fuck, especially if you are forced to study Marx. I appreciate your kind words. I will reciprocate in kind. Paz!
